From June 3–5, SNEC PV & Energy Storage Expo 2026, one of the world’s largest exhibitions for the photovoltaic and energy storage industries, was successfully held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).

Under the theme “Innovating Materials, Envisioning a Zero-Carbon Future,” Betterial showcased its latest innovations in photovoltaic encapsulation materials and comprehensive material solutions. The company presented cutting-edge technologies for tandem perovskite modules, BC-0BB modules, ultra-high-transmittance encapsulation films, and other advanced applications.

Through newly obtained industry certifications and strategic collaborations, Betterial further demonstrated the reliability of its products while contributing to the high-quality and sustainable development of the global PV industry.

Breakthrough Innovations

Betterial Breakthrough Innovations

At this exhibition, Betterial presented a comprehensive portfolio of encapsulation technologies covering perovskite, BC, and TOPCon solar modules, delivering more efficient, reliable, and cost-effective material solutions for a wide range of photovoltaic applications.

1. Encapsulation Solution for Tandem Perovskite Solar Modules

Betterial introduced its Betterial® Encapsulation Film for Tandem Perovskite Modules, featuring advanced thermoplastic encapsulation technology that overcomes the temperature limitations of conventional encapsulation processes. The film achieves outstanding crosslinking performance and peel strength under low-temperature lamination conditions.

Its unique peroxide-free formulation eliminates the risk of peroxide decomposition residues that can chemically corrode sensitive perovskite layers in traditional crosslinking films, significantly improving the long-term stability and reliability of tandem perovskite solar modules.

2. BC-0BB Low-/Silver-Free Encapsulation Solution

To address the dual industry demands of silver reduction and long-term reliability for BC solar modules, Betterial launched its dedicated BC-0BB encapsulation film.

Developed with a customized low-extractables, high-moisture-barrier formulation, the film offers excellent resistance to damp heat, UV aging, and PID (Potential Induced Degradation), effectively protecting low- or silver-free electrodes throughout the module’s lifetime.

Validated through rigorous reliability testing, the solution enables significant silver paste reduction while providing critical material support for the large-scale commercialization of BC technology.

3. Ultra-High-Transmittance Encapsulation Solution

Designed specifically for high-efficiency TOPCon solar cells, Betterial’s ultra-high-transmittance encapsulation solution maximizes light transmission and photon utilization, delivering higher module power output and energy yield.

The solution also provides outstanding UV resistance and long-term weatherability, addressing key durability challenges faced by TOPCon modules. Compatible with mass-production lamination processes, it supports the industry’s ongoing efforts to reduce costs while improving module efficiency and manufacturing quality, attracting significant attention from global customers during the exhibition.

4. Light Conversion Film Solution

Betterial also showcased its light conversion encapsulation film, developed specifically for harsh environments such as deserts and high-altitude regions where strong UV radiation accelerates UVID and optical loss.

The HC806 light conversion film converts harmful ultraviolet light into usable blue light with a quantum yield exceeding 95%, delivering 1.2%–3% module power gain. It demonstrates less than 3% degradation after UV60 aging, effectively mitigating both UVID and PID while providing even greater performance improvement under high-temperature conditions.

Manufactured using an integrated co-extrusion process, the film is compatible with thinner solar cells and offers an ideal balance between power enhancement and cost-effective large-scale production.

5. Energy Storage Insulation & Thermal Management Materials

Betterial also introduced a comprehensive range of energy storage insulation and thermal management materials, including battery cell insulation tapes, aerogel thermal insulation pads, and insulation hot-melt films.

These products feature excellent flame retardancy, electrolyte resistance, thermal shock resistance, and electrical insulation performance, providing enhanced operational safety for energy storage systems. Their lightweight design and easy processability make them suitable for a wide variety of ESS applications while supporting the safe development of the global energy storage industry.
