Cost reduction and efficiency improvement have long been the driving force behind the evolution of photovoltaic technology and remain a key focus across every stage of the PV industry chain. Compared with traditional aluminum alloy frames, PV composite frames offer higher mechanical strength, superior weather resistance, excellent electrical insulation, lower material costs, and a lighter, more aesthetically appealing design, making them an increasingly popular choice within the industry in recent years.
To address the technical requirements of composite frames, Betterial has developed a specialized weather-resistant coating for composite frames. This environmentally friendly coating delivers outstanding resistance to weathering, UV exposure, salt spray, corrosion, abrasion, and scratches. Designed for demanding environments—including high temperatures, high humidity, heavy salt spray, and sand-laden conditions—it provides reliable, long-lasting protection and supports the broader adoption of composite frames across a wide range of applications.
Eco-Friendly, Durable, and Visually Versatile
Betterial composite frame weather-resistant coating is formulated using a water-based system, significantly reducing environmental impact through VOC emissions well below national regulatory standards.
In addition, the coating supports a wide variety of color options without increasing manufacturing costs, allowing customers to customize module appearance while meeting diverse architectural and branding requirements.
Outstanding Performance for Broader Application Scenarios
In performance testing, Betterial’s composite frame weather-resistant coating demonstrated exceptional performance. After 300 kWh Wet UV testing, the coating exhibited minimal color difference, high gloss retention, and no noticeable chalking, confirming its excellent UV resistance and long-term weatherability.
The coating also maintained its appearance and performance after 5,000 hours of Neutral Salt Spray (NSS) testing, 3,000 hours of Damp Heat (DH) testing, and 2,000 Thermal Cycling (TC) cycles, demonstrating outstanding resistance to harsh weather conditions and salt corrosion.
In addition, it achieved a sand abrasion resistance of >8 L/μm and a scratch hardness of >2H, highlighting its superior scratch and wear resistance.
These rigorous test results confirm that the coating enables composite frames to operate reliably in demanding environments, including marine, lakeside, desert, and other harsh outdoor conditions.
Comprehensive Repair Solution for Complete Customer Peace of Mind
To address the various situations encountered in real-world applications, Betterial has developed a comprehensive repair solution, such as UV-curable anti-slip strips and UV repair coatings, enabling fast and efficient on-site coating restoration at customers’ facilities. This integrated solution effectively resolves common issues, including scratches caused by frame stacking and impact damage that is difficult to repair, delivering a more convenient, efficient, and reliable user experience for customers using composite frames.
In addition to test data, Betterial’s composite frame weather-resistant coating has also been tested and certified by TÜV Rheinland, deployed at the CPVT Field Testing Base and has received the “National Quality Selection” certification for all-application-scenario weather resistance. This coating forms a durable protective barrier for composite frames, enabling them to withstand harsh environmental conditions and long-term exposure to corrosion, thereby ensuring the long-term reliability and stable performance of photovoltaic modules.
